Basic Obedience Package
Basic Obedience for Started Dogs 6 months and Up
Cover the essential commands and foundation that your dog will need to learn for all advanced skills., or if your dog needs work on basic obedience that hasn’t been successful.
If you dogs has some basic skills and you need to brush up, or your starting from scratch, we’ll evaluate and prepare the working/hunting/sporting dog way. This is a course for owners that want to test their dogs obedience skills, need to sharpen skills, or need to work through the basics of hunting dog skills. We’ll cover the importance of the sit, place, steadiness and walking on heel, as well as give you basic drills that you will do throughout the life of your dog.

The importance of socialization and exposure to the outdoors
Standards for you and your dog
Skills that will need to be mastered before moving on to working with a collar
Overcoming behavioral problems using obedience and distraction work
Exposure to natural terrain and high distraction environments under control
Basic obedience skills required for gun dog training prior to 6 months of age
If your dog is heading off to a pro for fetch work and competitive work, we can discuss how starting your puppy here could be of value, or point you in the right direction.
This course takes place over 8 sessions at The Ranch with testing and required practice sessions. The courses are tailored to your dog, and we may add additional work if necessary, or alter the curriculum depending on how your dog learns.
